Let’s talk! Tom and Cookie would like to start a conversation about race relations in the Metro Detroit region.  We want to share stories of growing up in Detroit in the 1960s and what we, as a community, can do to improve open communication between blacks and white and people of all races. Please contact us to request a date for your upcoming event. Whether you’re looking for a book club discussion, book signing event, or just a chance to gather a group for coffee and conversation, we’d love to be part of your plans.  Here’s a list of our upcoming appearances.

BWYM Breakfast

Come join us for breakfast!

This will be a time for blacks and whites to mingle, enjoy each other, and learn about each other.  We consider this to be a huge part of our purpose for writing the book. Please bring your children, it’s important for children to witness this special kind of bonding among friends and strangers.
Tom & Cookie will have a short discussion about the book, their friendship and how it grew by just getting to know one another.
Admission is $15 (payable at the door) and will cover breakfast.
Books and t-shirts will be available for sale.
